STORYBOARD
For cough people, I adjusted the scale of character which is add the keyframe on scale at 0.08 seconds ( scale 178%), 0.15 seconds (scale 175%), 0.21 seconds (scale 178%), 1.02 seconds (scale 175%),1.06 seconds (scale 178%), and 1.11 seconds(scale 1.75%). These keyframe also repeated from 2.10 seconds until 3.12 seconds to create the state of the character coughing, accoring to the cough sound effect.
I make the water dropping effect and text animation ' typewritter' according the video I had search. After the skull move to the left, the text 'Globally, 2 million people die each year from water pollution disease' appear gradually. At the same time, there have water droplets dropping.
Challenges and Solutions
1. My computer couldn’t handle too many moving virus animations
Challenge: I wanted to show the viruses flying around the character to create a more dynamic and realistic effect. But my computer couldn’t handle too many movements at the same time—it would lag or crash.
Solution: I changed my plan and made the viruses look like they were “breathing” instead. I did this by adjusting their opacity and scale with keyframes. This made the viruses seem alive and floating, without needing heavy movement animation. It was a creative solution that still looked good and saved computer power.
2. Syncing the animation with sound effects
Challenge: It was hard to match the coughing motion with the sound exactly.
Solution: I carefully adjusted the scale keyframes of the character to follow the rhythm of the cough sound. I repeated this several times to make it feel natural and believable.
3. Learning new animation skills
Challenge: I didn’t know how to make text animation at first, especially the typewriter effect.
Solution: I watched tutorial videos and practiced. In the end, I successfully used the typewriter text animation to show information clearly and with style.
I also learned how to do text animation using the typewriter effect, which made the information appear in an interesting and clear way. Besides that, when I had some problems with the software or tools, I learned to find other ways to solve them, instead of giving up. This helped me become more flexible and creative.
I used simple symbols like skulls and viruses to show danger and sickness. That taught me that even simple visuals, when used with motion and sound, can send a strong message.
Most importantly, I learned that good design is not just about looking nice. It’s about sharing a message that can teach people, make them feel something, and maybe even inspire them to take action.
